Wando and Haenam Student Leaders Attend '2025 NEXT Leadership Camp'

Programs Included Special Lectures and Sharing of Self-Governance Case Studies

The Wando Office of Education and the Haenam Office of Education announced on June 3 that they had jointly held the "2025 Wando-Haenam Regional Student Union NEXT Leadership Camp" in collaboration with the Chosun University Marine Biology Education and Research Center and in the Sinji-myeon area of Wando.

The purpose of this camp was to foster a democratic school culture based on the values of autonomy and responsibility among peer student leaders, and to help participants explore career paths and cultivate a sense of community. Twenty-six student council members from middle and high schools in the Wando and Haenam regions participated in the camp, experiencing a variety of programs including leadership lectures, collaborative project assignments, discussion activities, and sharing of student council case studies.

In particular, the students enhanced their collaboration and communication skills through activities such as "Leader Avengers" and "War of the Bosses," where regional students formed teams to complete assigned missions together. During the "Leaders' Records" session, participants shared examples of student council activities from their schools and discussed their experiences, building a sense of solidarity.

One student who participated in the camp shared, "It was refreshing to experience collaboration and communication with friends from other schools, and I want to become a leader who grows together within the community."

Lee Cheolyoung, Superintendent of the Wando Office of Education, stated, "This camp was a meaningful opportunity for local student leaders to collaborate and grow together," and added, "We will continue to provide support so that they can develop into talented individuals who will lead the future of education in Jeonnam."

Meanwhile, the Wando Office of Education plans to use this camp as a stepping stone to further strengthen student council leadership capabilities and expand interregional student union exchanges.
