Gurye County, South Jeolla Province, announced on June 2 that it had achieved outstanding results at the "2025 Folk Ssireum Danojangsa Ssireum Tournament," which was held in Mungyeong, North Gyeongsang Province, over a seven-day period ending on June 1.

The Gurye County Office Sun Bear Ssireum Team won first place in both the Chrysanthemum weight class and the team event, and also secured second place in the Plum weight class, further enhancing the team's prestige.

In the Chrysanthemum weight class final, Eom Hajin defeated Lee Jaeha from Ansan with a 2-0 victory, successfully executing the japchaegi technique twice to claim the championship title.

After the match, Eom Hajin stated, "Although I was disappointed with my performance at the Yuseong Oncheonjang Ssireum Tournament, I did not give up and continued to train consistently, which led to these good results. I will continue to work on my weaknesses and strive to become an even better athlete."

Additionally, in the Plum weight class final, Seon Chaerim faced Choi Dahye from Goesan and narrowly lost 2-0, finishing as runner-up. In this tournament, every member of the Gurye County Office Ssireum Team demonstrated strong teamwork and high-level performance, leading the team to victory in the team event and proving their solid capabilities.
