Lee Junseok Criticizes Jim Rogers' Alleged Support for Lee Jaemyung: "Announcing Unverified Claims Violates Election Law"

Lee Junseok, the presidential candidate of the Reform New Party, criticized the Democratic Party's claim that Jim Rogers, an American investment expert, had endorsed Lee Jaemyung, the Democratic Party's presidential candidate, calling it "an incident that damages the prestige of candidate Lee Jaemyung."

On the afternoon of June 2, at Korea Polytechnic University in Siheung, Gyeonggi-do, Lee Junseok told reporters, "It seems that the brokers working with candidate Lee Jaemyung are extremely inaccurate and unprofessional." He made these remarks in response to the Democratic Party's press conference on May 29, organized by the party's International Cooperation Group, where they asserted that "world-renowned investor Jim Rogers has declared his support for candidate Lee Jaemyung."

Lee Junseok stated, "Announcing a declaration of support based on completely unverified information constitutes a violation of the Public Official Election Act," and added, "I hope candidate Lee Jaemyung will stop making statements that mock the public, such as promising to explain himself after the election or saying he will reflect on his actions as soon as possible."

Regarding his visit to Korea Polytechnic University for the "Let's Eat School Meals" event, he said, "At a previous campaign event, one of the students from Korea Polytechnic University told me that the application rate for Korea Polytechnic University is very high, so shouldn't I visit? I immediately replied that I would come on Monday, and I am here today to keep that promise."

In response to criticism from Kwon Seondong, floor leader of the People Power Party, that a decisive action is needed to prevent Lee Jaemyung from winning the election, Lee Junseok said, "I know that the People Power Party is disorganized, but I also think the party's messengers are extremely confused." He added, "The day before, Kim Jaewon, chief of staff for the People Power Party candidate, openly provoked me by saying that a vote for Lee Junseok is nothing but a scrap of paper."

Regarding his visit to Daegu as the final campaign stop, Lee Junseok explained, "In fact, I had said I would say my final greetings to voters in Dongtan, and I visited at a time on the last weekend when the most Dongtan voters could gather." He continued, "In the June 3 presidential election, I hope that the citizens of Daegu and Gyeongbuk will show that the future of conservatism lies not in the old conservatism tainted by martial law, impeachment, and allegations of election fraud, but in a new conservatism led by the younger generation."
