The Gwangju Office of Education Citizen Cooperation Promotion Center will operate the '2025 Environmental Education Week' from June 5 to 8. The program targets all elementary, middle, and high schools, as well as educational administrative institutions in the Gwangju area.
According to the Gwangju Office of Education on June 2, the Environmental Education Week is a program implemented by the Ministry of Environment since 2022. This year's theme is 'Ending Plastic Pollution.'
Employees of the Gwangju Office of Education Citizen Cooperation Promotion Center conducted a trash pickup campaign around the main building's trail and Banchonje area on the 22nd of last month in preparation for the '2025 Environmental Education Week.' Provided by Gwangju Office of Education
The Promotion Center will offer a variety of programs, including trash pickup around schools, ecological transition quizzes, vegetable garden and waste site inspections, job training, and AI song-making activities.
The quizzes are based on the textbooks 'Sustainable Earth, Bitgoeul Life' and 'Useful Youth ESG Knowledge,' both developed by the Promotion Center. The quiz questions can be downloaded from the Promotion Center's website.
The Gwangju Eastern Education Support Office will also hold its own Environmental Education Week from June 4 to 10. Activities will include cleaning around the office building, ecological reading activities, and operating a resource circulation center. In addition, a carbon neutrality campaign for employees will be conducted.
