On May 28, Sampyo Group visited the Uiwang Campus of Korea National University of Transportation and provided a snack truck. This initiative is part of the 'SPoon UP!' program, an ongoing support project led by Sampyo Group's Social Contribution Team throughout the year. The event was organized to celebrate the 120th anniversary of Korea National University of Transportation, the only comprehensive university in Korea specializing in transportation, to encourage the academic pursuits of future railroad talents, and to contribute to raising interest in the railroad industry.
Sampyo Group sent a snack truck to the students of the Railroad College, providing 500 servings of hot dogs. The company also took time to introduce the main businesses, job roles, and recruitment processes of its railroad subsidiary, Sampyo Railway, and to communicate with the students.
Yoon Seungjo, President of Korea National University of Transportation, said, "This year marks the 120th anniversary of Korea National University of Transportation, making it a particularly meaningful year. I am grateful for the warm support and encouragement extended to future railroad talents. I believe the interest shown in these future talents will serve as great motivation for students aspiring to enter the railroad field."
Yoo Heecheol, CEO of Sampyo Railway, said, "Congratulations on the 120th anniversary of Korea National University of Transportation. This event was a meaningful opportunity to introduce Sampyo Railway and to engage with students. Going forward, we will continue to promote various activities to help future talents develop their interest in the railroad industry and prepare for a sustainable future."
Yoo Yongjae, Head of Social Contribution at Sampyo Group, said, "Sampyo Group will continue to carry out projects that allow us to share and provide support wherever social interest and encouragement are needed."
Sampyo Railway is the only comprehensive railroad engineering company in Korea. It has localized the production of high-speed turnouts, which previously depended on foreign technology and components, and installed them on the Gyeongbu and Honam high-speed railways. The company is also leading efforts to enhance the status of Korea's railroad industry by expanding exports of turnouts and special equipment (such as FBW welding machines) to countries including Taiwan, India, and Vietnam.
