Pledis Entertainment announced on June 2 that Seventeen's fifth studio album, "HAPPY BURSTDAY," ranked first in first-week (initial release week) K-pop album sales this year according to Hanteo Chart.
"HAPPY BURSTDAY" sold 2,521,208 copies during its first week of release (May 26 to June 1), topping the weekly album chart. This is the highest record for a K-pop album released in 2025.
The album, with "THUNDER" as its title track, became a double million seller (over 2 million copies) on the day of its release. It also ranked No. 1 on Japan's Oricon Daily Album Ranking for five consecutive days and received "Diamond Album" certification from China's QQ Music.
Seventeen also set a record among K-pop artists for global ticket sales in the first half of 2025, reaching $120.9 million (approximately 165 billion won).
Meanwhile, Seventeen is continuing its variety show activities, releasing "Nana Minbak with Seventeen" on the same day.
