Gwangju City announced on June 2 that it has selected Human Resource LLC and Chamjoeun Food Co., Ltd. as this year's 'Leading Social Economy Enterprises.'
The 'Gwangju Social Economy Leading Enterprise Fostering Support Project' is a program that discovers and supports local social economy enterprises with the capacity to realize social value and potential for growth. Since 2017, a total of 28 companies have been selected as leading enterprises.
This year, each of the two selected companies will receive 25 million won in project funds, along with customized support in areas such as management consulting, market expansion, promotional marketing, and network connections.
Human Resource LLC, led by CEO Choi Kyungok, is a specialized social enterprise in building facility management, cleaning, disinfection, and consulting, dedicated to creating stable jobs for vulnerable groups.
Chamjoeun Food Co., Ltd., headed by CEO Kim Hwasoon, is a company specializing in outsourced catering using local agricultural products and is contributing to regional coexistence by employing socially disadvantaged individuals, including marriage migrant women and women with career interruptions.
Choi Kyungok, CEO of Human Resource, stated, "It is a great honor to be selected as a leading social economy enterprise in Gwangju," and added, "We will continue to strive to be a model social enterprise that grows together with the local community."
The city plans to continue providing active support so that the two companies selected as leading enterprises can establish themselves as sustainable and exemplary models of social economy within the local community.
Lee Gyedu, Director of Labor and Employment Policy, said, "The social economy is an important pillar in realizing a people-centered and sustainable economy," and added, "We will systematically support local social economy enterprises so that they can improve the quality of life for citizens and grow together with the region."
