On May 30, E8 (E8) announced the launch of its fluid simulation software, 'NFLOW 3.0,' stating that it will significantly enhance the implementation of digital twins across various industries.
E8's simulation software NFLOW has previously been utilized in a wide range of fields, including smart cities, water resource management, secondary battery manufacturing, disaster response, and crowd simulation. It has been used to simulate the prevention of data center flooding caused by heavy rainfall and to conduct manufacturing process simulations in the production of core materials for secondary batteries. The software has also contributed to the identification of risk factors and the development of safety measures by analyzing high-density crowd movement patterns in complex architectural spaces such as subway stations, allowing for the early detection of potential dangers when crowd density is high.
The newly released NFLOW 3.0 builds upon these existing use cases with significantly enhanced features, enabling more precise and efficient simulations. NFLOW 3.0 strengthens CAD-based simulation capabilities, making it possible to perform accurate and efficient simulations even within smart buildings with complex architectural and facility structures. In addition to the previous format, which only represented surface meshes, the software now allows users to directly import CAD files containing detailed design information such as dimensions, hierarchical structures, and component structures, enabling direct utilization of design data.
Optimized features have also been added for HVAC system analysis that considers energy flow in smart buildings. NFLOW 3.0 enables more precise flow analysis by controlling density changes and volumetric expansion rates in incompressible flows. It supports multi-component flow analysis, including temperature, concentration, and velocity, making it effective for predicting indoor thermal environments. Additionally, a monitoring function has been incorporated, allowing users to visually confirm convergence status and changes in physical quantities during the simulation process based solely on data forms, which facilitates efficient simulation management and rapid decision-making.
Through these feature improvements, NFLOW 3.0 is now able to provide a more precise and efficient simulation solution, building on its existing experience across various industries. E8 plans to accelerate the adoption of digital twins in different sectors using NFLOW 3.0 and to create tangible value in areas such as smart manufacturing, disaster response, and energy efficiency.
An E8 representative stated, "As the era of physical AI arrives, the importance of simulations conducted in digital twin environments is increasing, and the required levels of accuracy and precision are also rising. NFLOW 3.0 is a solution that integrates our 3D simulation technology, and we plan to launch an AI CFD solution soon."
