At 2:00 p.m. on this day, Lee will hold a major campaign rally at Chuncheon Station Plaza in Gangwon Province. He will then continue his campaign at Wonju Haengbok Madang and the Clock Tower Plaza at Chungju Gymnasium. Cho Seung Rae, chief spokesperson for the Democratic Party’s Central Election Committee, explained during a morning briefing at the party’s headquarters in Yeouido, Seoul, that Lee plans to introduce development strategies for the bio sector, which corresponds to the "B" in his "ABCDEF strategy," in the "bio healthcare belt" regions of Yeongseo in Gangwon and the central inland area. He will also present plans to create a tourism hub by leveraging the region’s unique natural environment and long history.

This is Lee’s first visit to Gangwon Province during the official election campaign period. Gangwon and North Chungcheong were regions where Lee lost to his then-opponent Yoon Suk Yeol in the 2022 presidential election. At that time, Lee received 41.72% of the vote in Gangwon and 45.12% in North Chungcheong, while Yoon Suk Yeol recorded 54.2% in Gangwon and 50.7% in North Chungcheong.

On the final weekend before the June 3 presidential election, Lee is expected to visit the Chungcheong region, known as a "swing voter" area, and the Yeongnam region, which is considered a "difficult battleground" for his party. According to the Democratic Party’s Daejeon City chapter, Lee will hold a major campaign rally in Dunsan-dong, Seo-gu, Daejeon, and other locations on May 31. Dunsan-dong is a newly emerging central district in Daejeon, home to the Daejeon Government Complex, large department stores, major supermarkets, and large apartment complexes. The Democratic Party views the Chungcheong region, which has historically served as a barometer of public sentiment, as a decisive battleground in the final stage of the election.

There is also a high possibility that Lee will visit the Yeongnam region, considered a difficult area for his party. According to the Democratic Party’s Ulsan City chapter, Lee will visit Ilsan Beach in Dong-gu, Ulsan, on the afternoon of June 1, the last day of the weekend, to make a final appeal for support to Ulsan citizens. Dong-gu, Ulsan, is the constituency of lawmaker Kim Tae Sun, who is closely accompanying Lee, and Nam-gu, Ulsan, is the constituency of lawmaker Kim Sang Wook, who joined the Democratic Party after leaving the People Power Party.
