Work at LG Innotek, Where Workforce Reinforcement Is Needed
Addressing Workforce Imbalances Within Group Affiliates
Voluntary Retirement Applications to Be Accepted from Production Employees
LG Display is temporarily implementing a 'short-term external dispatch system' for production workers to ensure job stability. It is also reported that the company will accept voluntary retirement applications from production employees with more than three years of service.
According to industry sources on May 29, LG Display has reached a labor-management agreement to begin recruiting volunteers for the temporary short-term dispatch system starting June 2. This is the first time LG Display has introduced an external dispatch system.

The scale of external dispatch will be flexible depending on the number of applicants. Dispatched employees will work at LG Innotek, which requires temporary workforce reinforcement during the seasonal peak period, for about four months starting in July. The work locations will be based on the same regions as their current workplaces, such as Paju and Gumi. After the dispatch period ends, employees will return to their original workplaces.
This measure is expected to help address workforce supply and demand imbalances within the group affiliates. LG Display explained that it decided to implement this system to maintain operational efficiency and job stability as it phases out its large liquid crystal display (LCD) business and pursues a business structure focused on organic light-emitting diode (OLED) technology.
In addition, LG Display is reportedly planning to accept voluntary retirement applications from production workers. The voluntary retirement program targets production employees with more than three years of service and offers a severance package that includes 45 months of fixed salary and educational support for their children.
LG Display also accepted voluntary retirement applications from production workers in June last year as part of its workforce optimization efforts. In November of the same year, the company conducted a voluntary retirement program for office workers for the first time in five years since 2019.
