Korea Urban Airport Asset Management (CEO Kim Gohyun) announced on May 29 that it had signed a business agreement (MOU) with Lotte Global Logistics (CEO Kang Byungku) for the operation of the "Easy Drop Samsung Station Hub" and opened an airline baggage check-in service center on the 2nd floor of the Urban Airport Terminal.
The newly opened Easy Drop center is the first urban-type baggage check-in service space in the Gangnam area of Seoul, providing a "hands-free" service that allows passengers to receive boarding passes and check in their baggage in advance. Passengers using Easy Drop can proceed directly to the departure hall at Incheon Airport without a separate check-in process, and, in particular, can move straight to the security checkpoint through a dedicated departure passage, which is expected to significantly reduce departure processing time.
Currently, Easy Drop serves international passengers of four airlines: Korean Air, Asiana Airlines, Jeju Air, and T'way Air. Incheon International Airport Corporation plans to gradually expand the number of airlines available for this service in the future.
Representatives from Korea Urban Airport Asset Management, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, Korea Airports Corporation, and Lotte Global Logistics opened the 'Easy Drop' hub for airline baggage check-in service on the 2nd floor of the Urban Airport Terminal in Samseong-dong, Seoul on the 29th and held a tape-cutting ceremony. Easy Drop operates from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. (closed on Wednesdays and public holidays). To commemorate the opening of the hub, a special discount promotion will run until August 31. Individual customers can use the service at a discounted rate of 25,000 won, down from the original 35,000 won, while family groups (two or more people) can use the service at a discounted rate of 20,000 won per person.
A representative from Korea Urban Airport Asset Management stated, "The operation of the Easy Drop hub at the Urban Airport Terminal is part of building smart public infrastructure to enhance citizen convenience and alleviate congestion at the Incheon Airport departure hall," adding, "Not only residents of the Gangnam area but also international travelers visiting Seoul will be able to experience greater convenience."
