Hampyeong County, Jeonnam announced on May 29 that it participated in the 'THAIFEX-Anuga Asia 2025' international food exhibition in Bangkok, Thailand, and signed a business agreement with Eugene Business for the export of seasoned seaweed to Thailand worth USD 1 million.
At the exhibition, which runs until May 31, the county showcased more than 10 types of local agricultural specialty products, including seasoned seaweed, attracting the attention of Thai consumers and buyers. Based on this, Hampyeong County is achieving tangible results in securing a foothold for entering the Southeast Asian market.
Under the agreement, Eugene Business will actively cooperate in expanding exports of seasoned seaweed by utilizing its distribution network and marketing capabilities in Thailand. The county will continue to pursue overseas market development and carry out various support projects to strengthen the competitiveness of local agricultural specialty products.
County Governor Lee Sangi stated, "Thailand is the center of the Korean Wave in Southeast Asia, and there is a very high level of interest in Korean cuisine and agricultural products. Through this business agreement, we will further expand overseas sales channels for local agricultural specialty products and establish a sustainable export base."
