On May 29, Imsil County in North Jeolla Province announced that roses have fully bloomed in the rose garden within Imsil Cheese Theme Park, a representative tourist attraction of the county.

With May being the season of roses, the county expects a sharp increase in the number of tourists visiting the cheese theme park's rose garden and has made thorough preparations to welcome them.

The rose garden at Imsil Cheese Theme Park features a large-scale rose garden, with over 3,000 pyeong of four-season roses and 3,300 pyeong of European-style roses. In total, more than 22,000 roses of about 150 varieties have been planted to create this expansive garden.

Each year around this time, the county boasts a spectacular landscape as roses of various colors reach their peak bloom. This year, full-scale blooming began this week and is expected to continue until mid-June, offering visitors a beautiful sight.

To coincide with this year's rose blooming season, the county has worked to improve the overall environment and landscape of the rose garden to provide visitors with a better viewing experience.

In March, the county replaced and replanted 960 roses of 12 varieties that were either poorly grown or dead, and completed soil improvement work, including the installation of perforated pipes in sections with poor drainage.

Additionally, to enhance visitor comfort in the European-style rose garden, five pergolas, 30 trellises, and 43 benches were installed, along with the planting of 29 ornamental trees to create a pleasant environment.

A variety of flowering plants that harmonize with the roses have also been planted, presenting an even more vibrant landscape. In this year, designated as the Year of Visiting Imsil, admission to the Imsil Cheese Theme Park rose garden is free for everyone.

The cheese theme park itself is a tourist attraction, offering ample parking, cafes, rest areas, and cheese shops to enhance visitor convenience. The county hopes that this rose blooming season will help establish Imsil Cheese Theme Park as a beloved year-round tourist destination.

In particular, the county plans to hold the first-ever Imsil N Cheese Festival themed around roses next spring. The strategy is to further strengthen Imsil's image as the cheese capital of Korea by holding a cheese festival with roses in spring and a cheese festival with chrysanthemums in autumn. Ahead of next year's inaugural cheese festival with roses, the county is accelerating the development of various tourism contents.

County Governor Shim Min said, "With roses in full bloom, more tourists are visiting the cheese theme park," and added, "I hope visitors will enjoy the spring atmosphere as they stroll with their loved ones, partners, or family members through the cheese theme park filled with fragrant roses."
