Former Prime Minister Han Ducksoo cast his early vote at the Sajik-dong Community Center in Jongno-gu, Seoul, at around 6:10 a.m. on May 29, the first day of early voting.

Han, who visited the polling station early in the morning, reportedly only said "Thank you for your hard work" to the reporters present before leaving the site.

The previous day, Han wrote on Facebook, "Early voting for the 21st presidential election will begin at 6 a.m. tomorrow," and added, "With the intention of supporting and endorsing Kim Moonsoo, the People Power Party candidate, I plan to go to a nearby polling station early tomorrow morning."

He continued, "I wish candidate Kim Moonsoo all the best for the future. It has been fifteen days since I withdrew from the presidential race. During that time, I met and expressed my gratitude to many people who understood my decision and helped with the campaign. Whenever I met each of them, I earnestly asked them to support candidate Kim with the same encouragement they had given me."

Han stated, "Right now, Korea stands at a crossroads: whether to stop here or move forward. Over the past three years, our politics have been marred by extreme immunity, extreme political strife, and extreme impeachment. Now, there are even voices saying, 'To prevent any more unfavorable rulings for our side, we will change the number and qualifications of judges.'"

He pointed out, "Such a mindset is, in itself, an enemy of the rule of law," and added, "If those who seek to overturn the rule of law and shake the system gain even more power, both economic prosperity and national unity will become difficult to achieve."

Han also argued, "No matter how much such people promise 'there will be no political retaliation,' it sounds hollow. I am truly concerned about what kind of scars this trend will leave on Korea, to which I have devoted fifty years of my life."

Early voting is being held nationwide from May 29 to May 30, from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. at designated early voting stations. Voters can participate by bringing an ID and may vote at any nearby early voting station.
