Kim Moonsoo: "Labeling someone as an accomplice to insurrection is verbal violence"
Clarifies stance on insurrection allegations during televised debate
Addresses controversy over refusal to apologize regarding martial law
Responds to Lee Jaemyung's question on former President Yoon Sukyeol's impeachment
Kim Moonsoo, the presidential candidate of the People Power Party, stated on the 27th, "Mixing martial law and insurrection to label someone as an accomplice or sympathizer to insurrection is a form of verbal violence."
During a televised political debate held at the MBC Sangam Media Center that day, Kim remarked, "There has never been an act of insurrection, and whether or not it constitutes insurrection should be determined by the outcome of the trial," making his position clear.
Regarding the fact that he was the only one who did not apologize when Seo Youngkyo, a lawmaker from the Democratic Party of Korea, demanded an apology from Cabinet members regarding the martial law situation during a government questioning session last year, Kim said, "Democratic Party lawmakers shouting and demanding apologies from Cabinet members is a form of violence."
In response to a question from Lee Jaemyung, the Democratic Party's presidential candidate, about whether he agreed with the impeachment of former President Yoon Sukyeol, Kim answered, "There were procedural issues, but in any case, he was impeached, and I acknowledge that, which is why I am running as a presidential candidate."
