Gyeongnam Information University Holds 60th Anniversary Ceremony

Dongseo Academy Foundation and Gyeongnam Information University held a ceremony to commemorate the 60th anniversary of their founding at 2 p.m. on May 27 in the Global Convention Hall of the Mirae Hall on campus.

The ceremony, held under the slogan "Repaying 60 Years of Love with Even Greater Gratitude," was attended by Park Dongsun, Chairman of Dongseo Academy Foundation; Kim Taesang, President of Gyeongnam Information University; Jang Jeguk, President of Dongseo University; Kim Daesik, National Assembly member; Cho Byunggil, Mayor of Sasang District; as well as faculty, staff, students of Gyeongnam Information University and approximately 500 guests.

The ceremony began with a thanksgiving service, followed by a screening of a commemorative video for the 60th anniversary, a presentation of the 60-year history of the university, an appreciation plaque presentation, a university vision declaration, and the unveiling of a commemorative monument.

Park Dongsun, Chairman of Dongseo Academy Foundation, said, "I am truly grateful for the tremendous love that the citizens of Busan have shown to Dongseo Academy Foundation and Gyeongnam Information University over the past 60 years," adding, "With a heart full of gratitude and a sense of responsibility, we will give back even more for the love we have received over the past 60 years."

During the vision declaration, Kim Taesang, President of Gyeongnam Information University, proclaimed, "Gyeongnam Information University will fulfill its future vision as a university for all, a regionally specialized university, and a startup-centered university, and will rise as a leading community college representing Busan."

Following the ceremony, at Minseok Square, the university held an unveiling event for a monument shaped after the university's English logo 'KIT', which was established with support from the alumni association, to celebrate the 60th anniversary together with faculty and staff.
