At the meeting, Bucheon City introduced the current status of promoting Korean medicine health care in connection with the 'Integrated Support Pilot Project for Senior Medical Care and Welfare,' which is being conducted by the public health center, and shared successful cases of Korean medicine health care in the region.
To ensure the successful operation of the Korean medicine health care project, Bucheon City has amended the 'Ordinance on the Promotion and Support of Korean Medicine' and established a Korean medicine promotion council, thereby laying an institutional foundation for strengthening health management throughout the life cycle.
In addition, the city is taking a comprehensive approach that covers prevention, rehabilitation, and the emotional care of patients and their families, while also strengthening the cooperative system between Korean and Western medicine.
An official from the National Institute for Korean Medicine Development stated, "We will continue to discover outstanding models of Korean medicine health care by linking local resources and provide customized consulting tailored to the characteristics of each region, thereby expanding the Korean medicine health care project nationwide."
