"Alleviating Urban Traffic Congestion" ... Changwon Special City Inspects Road Opening Between Jaeun 3 District and Pungho-dong

Establishing a Connected Road Network Between Guigok and Haengam, Seokdong and Sosa

Changwon Special City in South Gyeongsang Province announced on May 27 that the urban planning road construction project connecting Jaeun 3 District and Pungho-dong is scheduled for full opening at the end of May, following the completion of signal system integration.

"Alleviating Urban Traffic Congestion" ... Changwon Special City Inspects Road Opening Between Jaeun 3 District and Pungho-dong Jong Myungrae, Deputy Mayor 2 of Changwon Special City, is inspecting the road opening.

This project, which began construction in December 2020, aims to alleviate urban traffic congestion by establishing a connected road network between Guigok, Haengam, Seokdong, Sosa, and Seokdong Tunnel. A total project cost of 43.8 billion won was invested to construct a 1.3-kilometer-long, 25-meter-wide (four-lane) urban planning road.

In late November last year, the city partially opened a 1.0-kilometer section out of the total 1.3 kilometers to alleviate inconvenience for local residents.

The full opening of the entire section is expected to not only improve accessibility from the Jinhae city center to surrounding areas, but also shorten travel distances to key logistics hubs such as Jinhae New Port and Gadeokdo New Airport, thereby enhancing the competitiveness of the logistics industry by reducing logistics costs.

On May 27, Deputy Mayor 2 Jong Myungrae personally visited the site for a final inspection before the opening, checking traffic safety and encouraging on-site workers.

Deputy Mayor 2 Jong Myungrae stated, "We will open the road to the public as soon as the signal system integration is complete to provide greater transportation convenience for citizens," adding, "We will continue to expand the road network and improve services to create a more convenient and higher-quality transportation environment."
