Chungnam Province announced that it had gathered opinions from experts in relevant fields to establish the '2026-2045 Future Forest Development Strategy'.
On the 27th, the province held the 'SSEn Agricultural Committee Forestry Industry Division Mid-Year Meeting' at the Forest Exhibition Hall of Yongbongsan Natural Recreation Forest in Hongseong County, collecting advice and opinions on key issues in the forestry and forest industry sectors.
During the meeting, participants shared the current status of major forestry policy initiatives for this year and focused on discussing the 'Chungnam-Style Future Forest Development Strategy Establishment Plan (Draft)'.
The future forest development strategy is being formulated to proactively respond to rapidly changing environmental factors, such as climate change, forest aging, and the depopulation of mountain villages.
Ko Daeyeol, Director of Forest Resources, stated, "Forests and the forest industry are crucial keys to responding to the climate crisis and achieving balanced regional development," and added, "We will actively reflect the opinions shared at the meeting in our policies to successfully implement a Chungnam-style future forest strategy."
Meanwhile, the province plans to thoroughly review and incorporate the opinions presented at the meeting, supplement forest policies and projects, and seek sustainable development measures.
