Namyangju City Holds Regional Social Security Council Meeting
Health Subcommittee Renamed to "Life and Health Subcommittee"
Namyangju City in Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Joo Gwangdeok) announced on the 27th that it held the "2025 2nd Regional Social Security Council Representative Council Meeting" at the city hall Yeoyudang.

The meeting was attended by 28 people, including Joo Gwangdeok, the public chairperson and mayor, Kim Domook, the private chairperson, as well as appointed and ex officio members. The agenda proceeded in the order of awarding appointment certificates and discussing review items.
In particular, during this meeting, it was resolved to rename the Health Subcommittee to the "Life and Health Subcommittee" and to strengthen cooperation and coordination among social security agencies in the fields of mental health and suicide prevention.
Additionally, regarding the "External Director Recommendation System" for the fair operation of social welfare corporations, it was also resolved to add a new pool of director candidates for recommendation.
Mayor Joo Gwangdeok said, "This representative council meeting was a meaningful occasion to review major social security projects for the first half of the year and to discuss future tasks," adding, "Tangible results that citizens can feel are appearing in the field, such as the expansion of Jeong Yak-yong childcare programs, the creation of jobs for the elderly, and improvements in transportation welfare."
He further emphasized, "Social security is not limited to welfare but is a core policy encompassing all areas, including housing, employment, and education. The public and private sectors will work together to build a robust social safety net."
Meanwhile, the Namyangju Regional Social Security Council is a public-private partnership organization for promoting social security in the community. A total of 665 members are active across various fields of social security, divided into the representative council, working council, working subcommittees, and township and neighborhood councils.
