The Chungnam Office of Education announced on May 27 that it has set up a memorial space in front of the first-floor lobby of the Curriculum Evaluation Information Center to honor the memory of the Jeju middle school teacher who passed away due to malicious civil complaints.

The memorial space, which will be open for five days from May 27 to May 31, is accessible to all?faculty, students, and the general public?so that anyone may freely visit and pay their respects to the deceased.

To prevent harm to teachers caused by malicious civil complaints, the Chungnam Office of Education plans to conduct an urgent inspection of the civil complaint response systems at local education support offices and schools. Additionally, it will develop consulting services and support measures to both prevent and respond to such malicious complaints.

On the morning of May 27, Superintendent Kim Ji-cheol, together with staff members, laid flowers and observed a moment of silence. He stated, "I feel profound sorrow at the tragic news of a teacher who dedicated themselves to their students," and added, "I offer my heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family, the students, and everyone in the educational community."

He went on to emphasize, "It is our collective responsibility to create an environment where every teacher is respected and can focus on education with peace of mind," and called for joint efforts to establish a safe educational environment.
