On May 27, Gwangju Bank announced that it had signed a business agreement with the Korea Technology Finance Corporation to expand financial support for companies practicing carbon emission reduction and eco-friendly economic activities, aiming to promote green lending.

The signing ceremony, held on May 26 at the Gwangju Bank headquarters, was attended by Ko Byungil, President of Gwangju Bank, Park Juseon, Executive Director of the Korea Technology Finance Corporation, and other officials.

This agreement is intended to respond to the climate crisis and support the growth of companies engaged in green technology and environmental industries in the Gwangju and Jeonnam regions. Both institutions have agreed to develop practical measures to revitalize the management of eco-friendly companies that have high growth potential but face difficulties in securing funding.

Under the agreement, Gwangju Bank will pay guarantee fee support funds to the Korea Technology Finance Corporation, which will use these funds to implement the agreement guarantee. Beneficiary companies will receive tangible benefits, such as increased guarantee ratios and reduced guarantee fee rates.

Both institutions plan to use this agreement as an opportunity to jointly respond to the government's carbon neutrality policy and to continue cooperation in fostering green technology, green industries, and promoting eco-friendly finance.

Ko Byungil, President of Gwangju Bank, stated, "This agreement was established to provide substantial financial benefits to companies engaged in eco-friendly economic activities through cooperation between financial institutions," and added, "We will contribute to carbon emission reduction and revitalization of the local economy through sustainable and effective support."
