Over the past five years (2021?2025), Yeungnam University has produced 39 successful candidates in the Local Talent Level 7 Examination. This achievement ranks among the highest not only in Daegu-Gyeongbuk but also nationwide, and is attributed to the university's systematic support system. In particular, the University Job Plus Center meticulously manages the entire process, from recruiting applicants to preparing for the written exam and interview.

For students preparing for the exam, the university offers customized guidance including special lectures for PSAT preparation, mock exams, study groups, and the assignment of dedicated faculty advisors. In addition, to help students prepare for the interview stage, the university continuously operates programs such as meetings with previous successful candidates and mock interviews, thereby maintaining a high final pass rate.

Lee Kyungtak, Director of the Yeungnam University Job Plus Center (Professor, Department of Business Administration), stated, "Success in the Local Talent Level 7 Examination is possible only when university support and student effort come together," adding, "We will continue to strengthen our step-by-step customized programs from the written exam to the interview so that students can achieve their dreams of entering public service." He further commented, "Yeungnam University also operates a variety of programs to help students design their career paths and enhance their employability, not only for public service but also for employment at public institutions and private companies."

At the meeting with successful candidates held on May 26, President Choi Oechul said, "I am proud of all of you who have achieved the honor of passing in the midst of fierce competition. I hope you will maintain your current mindset and attitude until the end," and encouraged, "I hope you will grow into talented individuals who contribute to the development of the region and the nation with a sense of duty and responsibility as public servants."

Meanwhile, the National Civil Service Level 7 Local Talent Trainee Examination has been implemented since 2005 to strengthen regional representation in the civil service. University students or graduates who meet certain qualifications can apply through recommendations. Candidates are selected through a written examination (PSAT and Constitution), document screening, and interview, and those who pass will begin their trainee service at central government agencies in the first half of next year. After completing approximately one year of trainee service and a performance evaluation, they will be appointed as regular Level 7 civil servants.
