Goyang Special City in Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Lee Donghwan) announced on the 27th that it held a luncheon meeting on the 26th at the large conference room of Goyang City Hall with about 20 staff members who led the successful hosting of major performances such as G-Dragon and Coldplay.

This meeting was organized mainly by the Department of Culture and Arts, which oversees large-scale performance attraction, to encourage the hard work of level 7 and below staff members who have diligently carried out their duties on-site, including safety management, operation of temporary shuttle buses, traffic control, and crackdowns on illegal activities.
The Department of Culture and Arts was responsible for the entire process of attracting and executing large-scale performances, including negotiations with private organizers, planning and operation of major events, and coordinating collaboration among more than 30 related departments.
Additionally, the Citizen Safety Office, Disaster Response Office, Bus Policy Division, and Parking and Traffic Division were in charge of safety inspections and management, public-private cooperation to improve public transportation accessibility, and on-site civil complaint response. The Ilsanseo-gu Autonomous Administration Division, Industrial Hygiene Division, Safety and Construction Division, and Traffic Administration Division were also mobilized to provide comprehensive support for the safe and accident-free hosting of the performances. Such achievements would not have been possible without the organic collaboration of various departments.
Mayor Lee Donghwan expressed his gratitude, saying, "Successfully hosting a super-large concert attended by hundreds of thousands of people without a single accident was made possible by your unsung dedication. You are the true heroes behind the myth of large-scale performances, having broken stereotypes and made a global stage possible here in Goyang."
He went on to emphasize, "Now that GoyangCon is being recognized as a mecca for major performances, the greatest strength lies in the expertise, responsibility, and tireless efforts of our city officials supporting on the ground."
Recently, the media has described Goyang City's efforts as 'devotion marketing,' highlighting the sophistication of its administrative details and the capabilities demonstrated through collaboration.
Goyang Special City plans to further advance its administrative support system for large-scale performances and to consider various measures to motivate public officials, such as expanding awards for meritorious service.
