Dahlan Al Hamad, president of the Asian Athletics Association (AAA), highly praised Gumi's potential at a recent press conference held in Gumi, stating, "This competition in Gumi will serve as an important milestone for the city to emerge as a central hub of Asian sports."

President Dahlan expressed his anticipation for the smooth operation of the event, saying, "I hope that this competition, which will unfold over the next five days, will be held successfully."


Kim Jangho, mayor of Gumi, emphasized, "For this competition, we have prepared an athletics stadium equipped with state-of-the-art facilities and will provide the best possible environment for both athletes and spectators," adding, "Gumi plans to continue attracting international sporting events in the future."

"Emerging as the Center of Asian Sports" On the 21st, at the 2nd floor of Gumi Sports Complex Center, Kim Jangho, mayor of Gumi, Dalan, president of the Asian Athletics Association (center), and Lee Kiheung, president of the Korean Sport & Olympic Committee, are responding to reporters at a press conference.

Yook Hyunpyo, president of the Korea Association of Athletics Federations, also stated, "With this competition, Gumi will accelerate its efforts to attract international sports events," and added, "We hope to see Gumi rise as a global sports hub through cooperation with the Asian Athletics Association."


Meanwhile, Woo Sanghyuk, South Korea's leading high jumper, stated, "I have been steadily preparing in Korea since 2024," and expressed his determination by saying, "The first goal of this competition is to achieve the best results in Gumi."
