Kim Moonsoo, the presidential candidate of the People Power Party, toured various locations in Chungnam on the 25th, four days before the early voting for the 21st presidential election, appealing for support by pledging to become a "jobs president and an economic president."
The Chungcheong region has served as the so-called "casting vote" area, determining the outcome in all three previous presidential elections.
During a campaign rally held at Gongsanseong Fortress in Gongju, Chungnam on this day, Kim stated, "I will create many jobs and make Korea a country that is good for business and for running a store."
He continued, "Right now, Korea is at a crossroads. Whether jobs are created or not, people are not getting married or having children, and life is very difficult," adding, "When I was governor of Gyeonggi Province, I created all 10 out of 10 jobs in Korea," evaluating his own achievements.
Kim emphasized, "To create jobs and help stores and businesses thrive, we need to cut taxes," and added, "We must educate people so they can work honestly. If honest people who do not lie or steal work, won't businesses and stores do well?"

Later, at a party speech event held at the Hongseongcheon Covered Parking Lot in Hongseong-eup, Hongseong County, Chungnam, Kim once again appealed for support, pledging to become a "jobs president and an economic president."
Kim stated, "By relocating public institutions to Naepo, where the Chungnam Provincial Government is located, I will complete the innovation city and ensure the definite development of Hongseong and Yesan."
Kim stressed, "The economy is tough and life is difficult, but I will help by cutting taxes and also develop agriculture and rural areas."
At the Hongseong campaign site, People Power Party lawmaker Sung Iljong, former lawmaker Kim Euldong, and former Seongnam Urban Development Corporation director Yoo Donggyu participated as speakers.
During a campaign rally at Onyang Oncheon Station Square in Asan, Chungnam, Kim targeted Lee Jaemyung, the candidate of the Democratic Party of Korea, asking, "Who would you choose between someone wearing a bulletproof vest and someone wearing a jobs vest?"
Kim said, "There is someone who campaigns wearing a bulletproof vest," and shouted, "Who would you choose between someone wearing a jobs vest who promises to create jobs, and someone wearing a bulletproof vest?"
He further criticized, "Wearing a bulletproof vest and setting up bulletproof glass should be enough, but now they are even making bulletproof laws. They are trying to create a law to stop all five trials if they become president just to avoid going to jail. Should such a law be made?"
He added, "If I become president, I will strengthen the law to send those who commit crimes to prison," and continued, "The trial for spreading false information has been remanded with a guilty verdict, but now there are calls for the impeachment, special investigation, and hearings of the Chief Justice. We must stop this reckless move toward dictatorship."
Kim appealed for support by saying, "It is not Kim Moonsoo who can stop dictatorship, but you. Only by voting correctly on June 3 can democracy be achieved."
Meanwhile, at the Asan campaign site, Chungnam Provincial Party Chairman Kim Youngseok, comedian Shin Dongsoo, singer Kim Heungguk, People Power Party lawmaker Kang Seungkyu, and lawmaker Sung also delivered supporting speeches.
