Kim Daejung, Superintendent of Jeonnam Education, expressed his deep condolences and confessed that he felt "overwhelmed with sorrow" in relation to the recent incident in which a middle school teacher in Jeju Province took their own life.

Through his Facebook page on May 24, Superintendent Kim stated, "With deep condolences, I pray for the repose of the teacher who tragically passed away in Jeju recently," and added, "I offer my heartfelt sympathy to the bereaved family, who are engulfed in great sorrow."

He continued, "The profound sense of responsibility shown by the teacher, who tried to protect a student, weighs heavily on all of our hearts. This incident is especially heartbreaking because it repeats the tragedy of the Seoi Elementary School teacher in 2023. As an educator, I feel a heavy sense of responsibility."

Superintendent Kim added, "I will deeply remember the late teacher's commitment to fulfilling their mission as an educator, and once again, I pray for their repose." He also emphasized, "The Jeonnam Office of Education will do its utmost to create an educational environment where everyone in the educational community is respected."
