Nationwide Expansion of "Children Safe Commuting Service"
Ultra-Precise Positioning (RTK) Technology... Real-Time Location Tracking for Commuting Vehicles
LG Uplus announced on the 25th that it will expand the "Children Safe Commuting Service" nationwide in collaboration with the early childhood education platform Kidsnote.
The Children Safe Commuting Service utilizes LG Uplus's Real-Time Kinematic (RTK) high-precision positioning technology and wireless communication network to track the location of kindergarten and daycare center commuting vehicles in real time and deliver this information to parents via the Kidsnote app.

Kidsnote is the leading mobile notification platform in Korea that supports communication between early childhood education institutions such as kindergartens and daycare centers and parents.
Parents can use the Kidsnote app to check in real time where their child is during the commute and whether the commuting vehicle has arrived near the kindergarten. When the vehicle departs, a push notification is sent to the parent’s Kidsnote app, and another notification is sent when the vehicle arrives at the kindergarten. When children leave for home, parents can also meet their child at the vehicle arrival time.
There is also a feature that allows parents to notify the kindergarten with a single click whether their child has boarded the bus. This function can also be used on days when there are outdoor activities such as field trips or experiential learning programs.
This Children Safe Commuting Service was verified as part of the Digital Town development project that has been underway in Donghae, Gangwon Province since last year. Through the partnership between LG Uplus and Kidsnote, this service will be expanded nationwide.
Janghyuk Lim, Executive Vice President and Head of Corporate Customer Group at LG Uplus, said, "We are pleased to provide real peace of mind and convenience to families raising children through LTE and 5G communication technology and the latest high-precision positioning devices," adding, "We will continue to deliver new customer experiences and social value through differentiated technologies and services that transform our customers' daily lives."
