Mayor Choi Hokwon Attends Opening Ceremony of Yeongdeungpo Garden Festival 'Garden Picnic'

On the afternoon of May 23, Choi Hokwon, Mayor of Yeongdeungpo District, attended the opening ceremony of the Yeongdeungpo Garden Festival 'Garden Picnic' held at Yeongdeungpo Park.

Now in its second year, the Yeongdeungpo Garden Festival is being held under the theme "Walking Through the Time of Green Gardens" and runs for three days from May 23 to May 25. The festival features a variety of hands-on programs, including ▲Family Flowerpot Making ▲One-Bite Garden Making ▲Mini Train in the Garden ▲Horseback Riding Experience, as well as exhibitions, cultural performances, and side events.

In particular, visitors can also enjoy a garden filled with May flowers such as hydrangeas and alliums, which were planted together with local residents during the first Yeongdeungpo Garden Festival last year.

Additionally, at the Yeongdeungpo Park lawn plaza, the 30th Resident Love Concert "Musical Journey in the Garden" will be held, with a total of 14 teams performing over three days to enhance the festive atmosphere.

Mayor Choi Hokwon stated, "I hope everyone can fully enjoy relaxation and healing as if on a picnic in an urban garden," adding, "I wish you create precious memories here in Yeongdeungpo, a garden city where gardens, people, and stories come together."
