Hong Taeyong, Mayor of Gimhae, Gyeongnam, attended the 16th anniversary memorial service for former President Roh Moo-hyun held in Bongha Village, Gimhae, Gyeongnam, on May 23, 2025, and paid respects at the gravesite.

The memorial service, held under the theme "The last bastion of democracy is the organized power of awakened citizens," was attended by Kwon Yangsook, Chairperson Cha Seongsu of the Roh Moo-hyun Foundation, former President Moon Jaein and Kim Jungsook, National Assembly Speaker Woo Wonsik, bereaved family members, and citizens.
