First, Shinsegae Department Store Centum City branch will collaborate with the Busan Regional Office of SMEs and Startups to host the "Busan Daldal Store" until May 31. This is the second regional dessert event following last year's "Busan Bbangbbang The Market." About 20 Busan-based companies, selected through a preliminary application process, are expected to participate. They will sell a variety of dessert products such as bread, cookies, and rice cakes without any entry commission fees.
Shinsegae Department Store is also running a social contribution program that offers a unique gourmet journey to experience local ingredients and distinctive cultures. Starting with the Gwangju edition in the fall of 2023, the "Local is Shinsegae" campaign introduces customers to hidden ingredients and culinary cultures by visiting various regions of Korea, including Taean, Hongseong, and Gimhae. The ingredients discovered through this campaign are introduced at department store pop-up events, helping local farms develop new sales channels.
Shinsegae Simon, which operates premium outlets, is holding direct trade markets to support small business owners in each region. In recognition of its efforts to promote mutual growth with local communities, Shinsegae Simon received a commendation from the Minister of SMEs and Startups at the "2024 Mutual Growth Week Commemoration Ceremony" in November last year.
In addition, Shinsegae Live Shopping leveraged its broadcasting platform last month to sign an agreement with Ulleungdo to promote local tourism, and developed joint travel packages to coincide with regional festivals. During the Ulleungdo tour sales broadcast aired on May 16, more than 2,000 customers requested consultations, achieving 110% of the sales target.
A Shinsegae representative stated, "We will continue to demonstrate differentiated ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) activities to build a more inclusive society."
