Namyangju City Council Successfully Hosts 7th Chairman's Ground Golf Tournament

About 200 Participants from 15 Ground Golf Association Teams
Chairman Jongdae Cho Emphasizes the Importance of Sports for All

The Namyangju City Council in Gyeonggi Province (Chairman Jongdae Cho) announced that the 7th Namyangju City Council Chairman's Ground Golf Tournament was successfully held on the 23rd at the comprehensive stadium inside the Namyangju Sports and Culture Center.

This tournament, hosted by the Namyangju Ground Golf Association and sponsored by the Namyangju City Council and the Namyangju Sports Council, saw the participation of around 200 people from 15 teams affiliated with the Ground Golf Association. The event was attended by Chairman Jongdae Cho, Urban Transportation Committee Chair Kyungwon Park, Operations Committee Chair Jinhwan Lee, Council Members Sangki Lee, Eunkyung Park, Yunok Park, and Hyeyeon Jeon, as well as Hae-won Yoon, president of the Namyangju Ground Golf Association, and other related officials.


The opening ceremony proceeded in the following order: declaration of the opening, welcoming and congratulatory remarks, presentation of awards, congratulatory and encouraging speeches, return of the championship flag and ceremonial first shot, closing, and a group photo.


In his welcoming speech, Chairman Jongdae Cho stated, "Ground golf is a valuable sport for all, as it not only enhances physical fitness through activity but also develops concentration, thinking skills, and, above all, opportunities for communication. I hope that today's tournament, regardless of competition, will be a festival where everyone can display their skills and share friendship."


He added, "The construction of a ground golf course that can also be used as a futsal field in Chasan-ri, Hwado-eup, and the improvement of facilities at the Geumnam-ri ground golf course are both underway, aiming for completion by the end of this year. Our city council will continue to work on expanding sports infrastructure so that seniors can exercise in a more pleasant and safe environment."
