This service not only provides weather information for each island, but also features a marine tourism weather safety index and a travel destination recommendation function. It was jointly developed by the Gwangju Regional Meteorological Administration and Jeonnam Province through a regional weather convergence service project.
The service covers a total of 34 islands: 24 'Islands to Visit' selected by Jeonnam Province, 5 islands with high tourism demand such as Heuksando and Cheongsando, and 5 recommended islands for visitors to the 2026 Yeosu World Island Expo.
Users can check in advance the risk level of various activities on the islands through six indicators, including the Island Travel Index, Boarding Sensation Index, and Marine Leisure and Ecological Experience Safety Index, in addition to the weather of their planned destination. In addition, the 'Island Travel Destination Recommendation' function suggests four optimal islands based on the user's planned travel date and preferred theme, considering weather and activity suitability.
Director Ham Dongjoo stated, "Weather is the most important information when traveling to islands," and added, "The Meteorological Administration will strive to ensure that travelers can enjoy a safer and more enjoyable trip to the islands of Jeonnam."
