Administrative Efforts Focused on Supporting Farms

According to the county on the 23rd, this on-site inspection was conducted in response to significant damage to agricultural facilities caused by strong winds that persisted for two days on April 9 and 10.
Governor Choi visited tomato farms in Gaebuk-myeon and farms in Cheoncheon-myeon where acacia trees had fallen, carefully inspecting the damage to greenhouses, cold damage, and facility destruction, while also listening to the difficulties faced by the affected farmers.
He instructed the heads of towns and relevant officials to devote themselves to quickly assessing the damage and minimizing crop losses, despite their busy schedules.
The county is currently conducting a comprehensive survey of all affected farms, including those visited, and is preparing tailored support measures such as prompt restoration and technical guidance for damaged crops.
Song Younggo, a farmer in Cheoncheon-myeon, said, "I was at a loss due to the sudden damage, but thanks to the quick support and attention from the governor and officials, I am overcoming these difficulties."
Governor Choi stated, "Meeting with farmers affected by the strong winds was heartbreaking. I consider the protection of our residents' valuable crops and property the top priority, and I will focus administrative efforts on supporting farmers so that recovery can be achieved as soon as possible and agricultural activities can resume."
