Police Secure Encrypted Phone Server Records Related to 'Yoon Arrest Prevention'

The police have obtained encrypted phone server records from the Presidential Security Service in connection with efforts to prevent the arrest of former President Yoon Sukyeol.

On May 23, the Special Investigation Team of the National Office of Investigation at the National Police Agency announced to the media, "We have received, on a voluntary basis, the encrypted phone server records related to the charge of obstruction of special official duties involving former President Yoon Sukyeol, former Chief of the Presidential Security Service Park Jongjun, and Deputy Chief Kim Sunghoon."


The Special Investigation Team explained that, through forensic work conducted from April 30 to May 22, they were able to recover most of the encrypted phone server records that were automatically deleted every two days, and that they selected and received the materials necessary for the investigation on a voluntary basis.


The Special Investigation Team also stated that they had seized or received, on a voluntary basis, the encrypted phones and work phones used by former President Yoon.
