Suwon City to Establish IoT-Based Integrated Management System for Cleaning Services

Suwon City in Gyeonggi Province has been selected for the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport's "2025 Smart City Innovative Technology Discovery Project" and will receive 200 million won in project funding.

Suwon City was chosen for its project to "Establish and Demonstrate an Integrated Management System for Cleaning Services Based on IoT Converged Data."

Going forward, Suwon City will install IoT devices on 300 cleaning service vehicles within the city to collect various types of information, including vehicle location and speed, distance and time driven, fuel consumption, and idling. Based on this collected data, the city will build an integrated management system for cleaning services.

Through the integrated management system, Suwon City will be able to transparently calculate costs such as fuel expenses and the appropriate number of vehicles, as well as improve the efficiency of vehicle operations.

Suwon City plans to sign an agreement with the lead company for the demonstration project within this month and aims to complete the system setup and launch the service by December.

A Suwon City official stated, "We will implement data-driven cleaning administration to enhance work efficiency and provide citizens with information on the operation of cleaning service vehicles," adding, "We will do our utmost to improve the efficiency of public services such as waste disposal and collection of household waste."
