The promotion season for grade 3 (Deputy Director General), considered the pinnacle for Seoul Metropolitan Government officials, has arrived.
On May 21, the Seoul Metropolitan Government announced its "2025 Second Half Grade 3 Promotion Plan." The number of officials expected to be promoted is 11, which is considered a significant increase compared to previous years.
As a result, those eligible for grade 3 promotion are said to have high expectations.
The city will receive work performance reports from promotion candidates on May 22. After this, a promotion review and personnel committee resolution will take place on June 2. The final list of promotion candidates will be announced following approval from the mayor.
Candidates with a strong likelihood of promotion to grade 3 this time include: Kim Gyuryong, Media Officer; Kim Hyungrae, Planning Officer; Lee Byungcheol, Economic Policy Division Head; Kim Gyuri, Cultural Policy Division Head; Kim Gwangdeok, Human Resources Division Head; Lee Changhyun, Autonomous Administration Division Head; Kim Hyunjung, Disaster Safety Policy Division Head; Cho Hyejeong, Employment Policy Division Head; Shim Jaewook, Southeast Region Project Division Head; Kim Changhwan, Technical Review Officer; Park Miae, Garden City Policy Division Head; Kim Yusik, Housing Maintenance Division Head; Choi Wonseok, Strategic Housing Supply Division Head; Park Sookhee, Low Birthrate Division Head; Choi Sunhye, Finance Division Head; Ahn Hyungjun, Transportation Policy Division Head; Kim Hongchan, Welfare Policy Division Head; and Byun Kyungok, Education Support Policy Division Head.
A Seoul Metropolitan Government official stated, "With the July 1 grade 3 promotion plan announced, the candidates are likely feeling both anxious and excited about their promotion prospects," adding, "It is expected that those who have demonstrated clear achievements as division heads will be promoted."
