This inspection was carried out with the participation of Mayor Na Dongyeon, relevant city officials, Yangsan Fire Station, Korea Electrical Safety Corporation, private experts from various fields, and factory representatives. The inspection team thoroughly checked the safety management of fire and electrical facilities within the tire manufacturing plant, and focused particularly on high-risk areas for fire outbreaks, such as the mixing process site, which is a key process where rubber and chemicals are combined.
In addition, starting with this inspection, the city plans to form a joint inspection team in June, consisting of relevant agencies and private experts from each field, to conduct proactive fire prevention safety inspections at large tire and rubber product manufacturing plants within the city. This is aimed at preventing similar fire incidents, ensuring the safety of citizens, and thoroughly protecting the region's industrial base.
Mayor Na Dongyeon stated, "Our city has a large number of factories manufacturing tires and other rubber products, and even a single minor fire could have a significant impact on citizen safety and the local economy." He urged, "Please do your utmost to further strengthen the prevention-focused safety management system and create a safe urban environment where citizens can feel secure."
