Hongseong County Signs Memorandum of Friendly Exchange and Cooperation with Heihe City, China

Promoting Local Product Placement and E-Commerce Registration

On May 21, Hongseong County in South Chungcheong Province announced that a delegation led by Deputy Governor Kwanghee Cho is currently visiting Heilongjiang Province, including Harbin, for four nights and five days from May 20 to May 24 to promote exchange and cooperation with China.

This visit was organized to sign a memorandum of friendly exchange and cooperation with Heihe City, to register Gwangcheon Gim and cosmetics for e-commerce sales, and to explore new directions for exchange with Mudanjiang City through a meeting with the Vice Governor of Heilongjiang Province.

As their first official activity in China, the delegation signed a memorandum of friendly exchange and cooperation with Heihe City and agreed to actively pursue friendly exchanges.

The county explored options for displaying Gwangcheon Gim and cosmetics on store shelves, registering them for e-commerce, and inviting participants to the Global Barbecue Festival. Heihe City, in turn, decided to immediately promote citizen participation and product placement, including strawberry quality evaluations and e-commerce registration, during the barbecue festival.

The delegation also paid a courtesy visit to Vice Governor Sui Hongbo of Heilongjiang Province and agreed to newly pursue friendly exchanges with Mudanjiang City, which is under the jurisdiction of Heilongjiang Province.

Kwanghee Cho, Deputy Governor of Hongseong County, stated, "We are also exploring directions for exchange with other cities in Heilongjiang Province, and we plan to maximize the outcomes to create a breakthrough for the county's development." He added, "We will continue to expand exchanges with the three northeastern provinces, which share strong historical, cultural, and economic similarities with us."

Meanwhile, Heihe City is a representative city of the three northeastern provinces, located in the northern part of Heilongjiang Province. It governs one district, three county-level cities, and two counties, with a population of 1.5 million and an area of 66,862 square kilometers. The city is particularly developed in livestock, mining, and tourism industries. Various festivals and events, such as culinary festivals, are held throughout the year, and the city shares a painful history of independence struggles.
