Gwangju Bank announced that it will operate 'Heatwave Shelters' at all its branches in the Gwangju, Jeonnam, and Seoul metropolitan areas from May 21 to September 30.
As a leading financial institution in the region, Gwangju Bank has consistently operated heatwave shelters every year to fulfill its social responsibility. Since first launching the Heatwave Shelter initiative in 2018?the first of its kind in the Korean banking industry?Gwangju Bank has operated the shelters every year, making them accessible to everyone regardless of whether they are a bank customer.
Park Seongsuk, Head of Business Planning at Gwangju Bank, stated, "A heatwave is more than just an inconvenience; it can threaten the health and lives of citizens," adding, "We will continue to expand the operation of heatwave shelters so that local residents can spend the summer safely and healthily."
