Dobong-gu Revitalizes Social Worker Licenses... Writing Resumes with AI and Returning to the Field

The "Jangnong License" Social Worker Employment Project in Dobong-gu, Seoul (headed by District Mayor Oh Unseok) is proving to be highly effective.

Nine residents who held social worker licenses but had not yet found employment have now secured positions at institutions of their choice.

Out of 36 program graduates, nine have found jobs, resulting in an employment rate of approximately 25%. An official from the district stated, "The remaining graduates are currently receiving follow-up support from the district, so we expect the number of successful employment cases to increase."

Last year, the district launched the "Jangnong License" Social Worker Employment Project to help residents who had obtained social worker licenses but had not yet entered the workforce.

This project provides participants with education and hands-on experience tailored to current employment trends, as well as direct support in job placement.

Participant satisfaction has been very high. In a satisfaction survey conducted among graduates, the program received a satisfaction rating of 83.4%. When asked if the program helped improve their practical skills, eight out of ten respondents answered "yes."

This year, the district is introducing new practical training programs suitable for the digital age, including artificial intelligence (AI) employment consulting. The district plans to utilize AI competency enhancement programs for resume writing and interview preparation training.

Currently, the district is recruiting participants for this year. Eligible applicants are Dobong-gu residents aged 18 or older but under 55 who hold a social worker license. A total of 50 participants will be selected.

Applications must be submitted by May 30, either in person at the Welfare Policy Division on the third floor of Dobong-gu Office or by sending the required documents via email to the designated staff member. Application forms and other required documents can be downloaded from the Dobong-gu or Dobongbokjiro websites. The selection results will be announced in early June on the Dobongbokjiro website.

Dobong-gu Mayor Oh Unseok stated, "Many residents face difficulties in their job search even after obtaining their licenses, due to long career gaps or a lack of understanding of the changed hiring practices. The district is implementing the 'Jangnong License' Social Worker Employment Project to address these challenges. We will do our utmost to ensure even more success stories emerge from this initiative in the future."
