Gyeonggi Tourism Organization Selects 10 Tourist Theme Alleys for 2024... Workshop Held on the 19th

On May 19, the Gyeonggi Tourism Organization held a workshop at the Siheung Oido Museum Education Center to mark the launch of the "2025 Gyeonggi-do Hidden Tourist Theme Alley Development Project."

The workshop brought together more than 50 participants, including officials from city and county governments in charge of the 10 tourist theme alleys selected through this year's contest, local councils, regional experts, and an advisory panel of alley specialists. The event was organized to share the project's direction and to further develop specific implementation plans for each alley.

This year, two new tourist theme alleys will receive a budget of 100 million won each: BOCA Coffee Street (Yongin) and Cheotmeori Street (Yeoncheon). In addition, eight existing outstanding alleys will receive 50 million won each: Haengnidan-gil in Hwaseong (Suwon), Wongok-dong Multicultural Food Street (Ansan), Samsong Graffiti Art Alley (Goyang), Doldari Cultural Village (Paju), Camp Bosan Street (Dongducheon), Gwanin Cultural Village (Pocheon), Jeongok-ri Marina Alley (Hwaseong), and Oido Sea Street (Siheung).

A representative from the Gyeonggi Tourism Organization stated, "Alleys are the starting point of everyday tourism, fully embodying local culture and the lives of residents. We hope that, through this workshop, each alley will continue to grow based on its unique identity and sustainable content."

Meanwhile, the "Tourist Theme Alley Development Project" is a flagship tourism branding initiative in Gyeonggi Province that began in 2020. A total of 30 alleys have been discovered to date.
