An Increase of 35.2 Billion KRW Over the Original Budget
Focus on Swift Wildfire Recovery and Stabilizing Residents' Livelihoods
Sancheong County in South Gyeongsang Province has finalized its first supplementary budget for 2025, totaling 685.5 billion KRW, following approval by the county council.
This supplementary budget amounts to 685.5 billion KRW, an increase of 35.2 billion KRW compared to the original budget, with 625.7 billion KRW allocated to the general account and 59.8 billion KRW to the special account.
The budget was drafted with the highest priority given to the swift recovery of areas damaged by the massive wildfire that occurred in March and to the stabilization of residents' livelihoods.
In addition, the budget carefully reflects projects confirmed with national and provincial funds, as well as suggestions from residents collected during township visits, in order to support the stabilization of residents' lives and the recovery of the local economy, which has been depressed by the wildfire.
Major projects include: emergency restoration of wildfire damage, operation of a civil complaint response team, provision of emergency disaster relief funds for wildfire-affected residents in Sancheong, cadastral resurvey project (Shincheon District), purchase and installation of mobile public restrooms, relocation and installation of the Memorial Tower for the Fallen, installation of streetlight insect traps, and rural sewage maintenance projects.
County Governor Lee Seunghwa stated, "This supplementary budget focuses on recovery from wildfire damage and support for affected residents," adding, "We will provide all possible administrative and financial support to help alleviate the concerns of wildfire victims and enable them to return to their daily lives as quickly as possible."
