Osan City in Gyeonggi Province announced on May 19 that it received the highest grade, 'SA', in the '2025 National Basic Local Government Heads' Pledge Implementation and Information Disclosure Assessment' organized by the Korea Manifesto Implementation Headquarters.
This assessment, based on data as of the end of December 2024, comprehensively analyzed the status of pledge implementation and the level of information disclosure made public on each local government's website.
The evaluation criteria consisted of five categories: pledge implementation completion, annual target achievement, resident communication, web communication, and pledge consistency. The city scored over 87 points in total, earning the highest grade, SA.
Since the launch of the 8th popularly elected administration, Osan City has established and promoted a total of 76 pledges across four major areas: innovative economic city, complex cultural city, welfare and health city, and exemplary administrative city. Of these, 47 projects have been completed, achieving an implementation rate of 61.8%.
In the innovative economic city sector, transportation infrastructure pledges such as the extension of the GTX-C line to Osan, the establishment of a new metropolitan bus route (Osan Station to Seoul Station), the early completion of the Dongbu-daero underground construction, and the early start of the Gyeongbu Line railroad crossing road project have been fulfilled. In the complex cultural city sector, pledges such as the creation of a Dulle-gil trail (Gapgolsan to Doksanseong) and the revitalization of the original downtown commercial district have been completed.
In the welfare and health city sector, resident-focused pledges such as expanded childbirth incentives, support for necessary expenses for daycare admission, installation of child pick-up and drop-off shelters, promotion of Dalbit Children's Hospital, and late-night agreement pharmacies have been fulfilled.
In the exemplary administrative city sector, projects such as the division of Daewon-dong and Sinjang-dong, introduction of the Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) to alleviate urban traffic congestion, and establishment of a digital administrative service foundation have been stably completed.
Lee Gwonjae, Mayor of Osan, said, "This assessment is the result of all public officials working together with the same commitment to keep our promises to citizens."
