Yuhan Corporation announced on the 19th that it held the "3rd Yuhan Innovation Program (YIP) Networking Day" event at its headquarters on the 16th. Approximately 80 people attended the event, including Cho Wookje, CEO of Yuhan Corporation, Kim Yeolhong, President of R&D, executives and researchers from the R&D headquarters, officials from Yuhan's affiliates, and YIP principal investigators. During the event, they discussed the progress of YIP research projects and explored various possibilities for collaboration.

Since 2022, Yuhan Corporation has been operating the "Yuhan Innovation Program (YIP)," a basic research support program for the development of innovative new drugs. The "Yuhan Innovation Program (YIP)" is an open innovation model specialized in basic research. It supports basic research based on the creative and innovative ideas of basic science researchers affiliated with domestic universities and public research institutes. Based on the research results, follow-up collaboration with Yuhan Corporation is pursued.

This event was organized to facilitate information exchange and explore research collaboration opportunities between Yuhan Corporation researchers and YIP investigators in the field of innovative new drug R&D. In addition to oral presentations sharing the progress of each project, a separate networking session was arranged, allowing for active information exchange in a relaxed atmosphere.

In the 3rd YIP, 28 new research projects were selected. Including projects chosen through the 1st and 2nd programs, a total of 63 projects have received support. In addition, among the projects whose research has been completed, eight projects that were deemed to require additional support considering the potential for new drug development collaboration are currently undergoing follow-up support research. Through these efforts, Yuhan Corporation expects to secure original technologies for future innovative new drug development and contribute to the advancement of Korea's basic science for new drugs by expanding investment in basic research.

Meanwhile, the 4th Yuhan Innovation Program (YIP) will provide research funding of 100 million KRW per project, and applications will be accepted through the Yuhan Corporation website from the 2nd to the 13th of next month.
