The event, held on May 17 at Misajeong Park in Hanam, Gyeonggi Province, saw the participation of employees from Korea Zinc's affiliates, including Serin Information Technology and KG Trading, bringing the total number of participants to a record-high 86.

The Steel Marathon, now in its 18th year, is a flagship networking event for the steel and non-ferrous metals industries, hosted by the Korea Iron & Steel Association. This year, more than 5,000 people, including industry employees and their families, took part. In addition to the 5km and 10km marathon courses, a variety of side events and performances were organized, fostering unity among industry members and creating cherished memories for families.

Korea Zinc has participated in the event every year since its first entry in 2023. This year, the inclusion of its affiliates demonstrated group-wide solidarity and cohesion.

Under the slogan "Steel Running Again! Opening the Future Together!", employees promoted health and actively practiced a corporate culture focused on environmental, social, and governance (ESG) values, further highlighting the significance of Family Month.

A Korea Zinc representative stated, "This year's Steel Marathon symbolically showcased the values of a healthy corporate culture and solidarity, with employees, families, and affiliate members all participating together. Going forward, as a member of the Korea Iron & Steel Association, we will further strengthen our ties with the industrial ecosystem and local communities, and take the lead in practicing ESG."

Meanwhile, this year's marathon saw the largest participation to date, with a total of 65 companies, including Korea Zinc, POSCO, Hyundai Steel, Dongkuk Steel Group, KG Steel, SeAH Group, and the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy.
