Ryu Junghwan, Head of the Infrastructure Network Center at SK Telecom (pictured), stated during a press briefing on May 19, "The FDS 2.0 service is being provided to all customers," and explained, "This service verifies whether a device connecting to the network is a legitimate subscriber." He added, "We have applied all the best available technologies," and assured customers, "You can rest assured. If any damage occurs due to illegally cloned USIMs or devices, we will take responsibility."
Earlier that morning, the joint public-private investigation team looking into the SKT hacking incident announced in its second investigation report that two servers storing device unique identification numbers (IMEI) and personal information had been exposed to hacking attacks.
