Honam University International Exchange Office announced on the 19th that it had provided free medical checkups for international students at the university.

The checkups were held on the 18th at the Gwangju Migrant Health Center, with support from the center. A total of 25 international students, including those from China and Vietnam, participated. This event was organized to offer practical assistance to international students who face difficulties accessing healthcare due to language barriers and financial burdens.

The checkups included consultations and basic examinations in various fields such as internal medicine, surgery, dentistry, and Korean medicine, as well as prescriptions. To facilitate smooth communication, interpretation services were provided in multiple languages, including Chinese and Vietnamese.

A representative from the Gwangju Migrant Health Center stated, "We will continue to provide unwavering support so that international students can enjoy a healthy academic life," and added, "We will also contribute to the welfare of international students through regular free medical checkups and health education programs in the future."

Yu Shuzhen, a Chinese student from the Department of Business Administration, said, "Being sick while living alone in a foreign country is the hardest part for international students," and added, "Programs like this go beyond simple medical support and provide an opportunity to feel the warmth of the local community."
