[Market Focus] iTalksy Rises as Director Jang Sanghyun Joins Lee Jaemyung's Economic Policy Group 'Deobureo Economic Committee'

iTalksy is showing strong performance. This is believed to be influenced by the news that Jang Sanghyun, an inside director at iTalksy, has joined the 'Deobureo Economic Committee,' a policy advisory body under the Minjugwangjang Committee, which is a direct organization of Lee Jaemyung, the presidential candidate of the Democratic Party of Korea.

As of 1:59 p.m. on May 19, iTalksy was trading at 884 KRW, up 3.63% from the previous day.

The Deobureo Economic Committee held its official inauguration ceremony on May 15 and appointed a diverse group of scholars as co-chairs, including Han Youngdo, former executive director of KT; Kim Gwangnam, former vice president of Korea Deposit Insurance Corporation; Cha Dongrae, executive director of the World Federation of Overseas Korean Traders Associations; and Lee Wonhui, former chairman of the Special Committee on Basic Economy. Song Kumho, former special advisor on inter-Korean relations for the Democratic Party, is expected to serve as spokesperson.

This committee also includes more than 10 prominent figures from various sectors as advisory board members, such as Lee Dongshin, former director of the Busan Regional Tax Office; Hwang Eunyeon, former president of POSCO; Kim Jinhong, former executive director of KBS; and Kim Kiyoung, professor at Sookmyung Women's University. They will contribute to policy advice and setting the committee's direction.

The committee is organized into 15 industry-specific subcommittees, including youth entrepreneurship, export competitiveness, biohealth, energy and environment, and small business and self-employed sectors. Top experts in each field, such as Jang Sanghyun, former head of investment at KOTRA Invest Korea, and Lim Hyunguk, director for defense reform at the Ministry of National Defense, are participating to develop concrete policy implementation plans.

The main subcommittees will promote initiatives such as supporting startups, developing new drugs and expanding R&D infrastructure, investing in green hydrogen infrastructure, and driving the digital transformation of traditional markets. In particular, the committee plans to propose strengthening competitiveness in advanced technology fields such as AI, semiconductors, and batteries, as well as establishing investment funds for working- and middle-class citizens.

Meanwhile, Jang Sanghyun, former head of investment at KOTRA Invest Korea, was appointed as an inside director at iTalksy in February and is currently in charge of new business operations.
