The police announced on the 19th that they had cracked down on 363 individuals in connection with the 21st presidential election.
According to the National Police Agency, a total of 276 election-related cases involving 363 individuals have been investigated so far. Of these, 6 have been referred for prosecution, 7 have not been referred, and 350 are still under investigation (including 2 who have been detained). The detained suspects are accused of damaging banners and committing election-related violence.
Based on the five major categories of election crimes, 149 individuals are involved. Specifically, 6 for bribery, 111 for spreading false information, 16 for public officials' involvement in elections, 12 for election-related violence, and 4 for illegal mobilization of organizations.
There are 185 individuals involved in damaging banners and posters, with one person detained. As for deepfake-related election crimes, there are 8 cases under investigation involving 18 individuals.
